Limited Places Available …

This month, the government announced that it is defunding sixteen apprenticeship standards including the popular management standards that we know have helped local companies with their succession planning over the past 9 years.

This means that from 1st September 2026 we can no longer offer new starts for the following standards:

Level 3 Team Leader
Level 4 Improvement Practitioner
Level 5 Operations Manager

The government have capped new starts between now and 1st September to avoid a cash-grab (their words) and so we now have the opportunity to offer one last cohort with limited places for each of these standards.

In the meantime, we continue to offer places on the following two popular standards:

Level 3 Improvement Technician (next cohort starts 11th June 2026)
Level 4 Associate Project Manager (next cohort starts 8th September 2026)

But when one door closes, GEL does not stand still…. we innovate and design new programmes to meet our customer needs.

In our next Blog we will share with you, our new apprenticeship pathways to help you develop the confident staff you need for succession planning.
